Loci Terms of Service

Operator and beta service

Loci is operated by David Lewenko, Alt-Karow 57, 13125 Berlin, Germany. Loci is a single-user macOS beta that records sessions you choose to capture and creates transcripts, summaries, structured notes, source links, tasks, Project Memory, and chat answers. The beta is currently free. That does not promise permanent free access, and features, limits, availability, or future terms may change.

Your responsibilities

You must use Loci only where recording is lawful and appropriate, tell participants and obtain consent when required, and submit only content you have the right to process. Do not use the beta to violate another person’s rights, applicable law, or the security of the service.

Your content

You retain the rights you hold in content you submit. Loci does not claim ownership. You grant David Lewenko only the limited permission necessary to host, process, transmit, and support that content to operate the beta.

Storage and third-party processing

The current beta stores recordings and generated results on Loci’s servers in Germany until you delete them. Loci uses Hetzner for hosting and object storage, Deepgram for transcription, OpenAI for generated results, Cloudflare for website delivery, Resend for beta-application alerts, and PostHog for anonymous product-usage analytics. Selected content may be processed by those providers to deliver the service.

Device access and beta downloads

Access is tied to a per-install device credential rather than a user account. Beta downloads and cloud access are seat-gated. Approved testers may receive time-limited links, checksums, and one-time seat codes. Do not redistribute builds, links, or seat codes without written permission.

Generated output

Transcripts, summaries, tasks, citations, Project Memory, and chat answers may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review important output before relying on it or acting on it.

Deletion

You may delete data tied to your device from Settings › Data and Privacy. Object cleanup can finish separately. Email [email protected] for deletion or export help.

Availability and warranty

The beta may change, fail, or become unavailable and is provided as-is without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, David Lewenko is not liable for lost data, missed tasks, interrupted service, or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
